Lean Awareness: first steps to manufacturing efficiency

The seminar is structured in three parts.

The first part of the seminar deals with the issues related to the organizational characteristics,  the type of products / services and the target markets of the company. Then the practical aspects of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management Systems are presented. This presentation is in preparation for the following visit to the departments of the company.

In the second part the principles of LEAN methodology and its main applications are thoroughly illustrated and discussed. In particular, best practices and successful case studies will be presented and a simulation of a “lean transformation” will be performed in a test environment, using the facilities and equipment of the Lean Experience Factory. This simulation gives the participants the opportunity of experimenting a situation similar to that of a real factory.

Main subjects presented during the seminar:

  • Efficiency loss in manufacturing and services processes
  • Value mapping
  • Main techniques for lean transformation
  • Learning by doing: an experience at the factory

In the third part of the seminar, at the end of the circuit, the group will return at the Factory Model “LEAN EXPERIENCE FACTORY” to attend at the theoretical reflection lesson, which will last three hours. During this lesson key issues of the manufacturing lean model will be illustrated and discussed; in this way the participants will have a better and deeper understanding  of the best practices seen during the visits at the host companies of the Circuit Go & LEAN.
