Consorzio delle DOC

The Consortium of DOC of Friuli Venezia Giulia has, as its founders, the following Consortia of Tutela Vini DOC: Friuli Annia, Friuli Aquileia, Friuli Eastern Hills and Ramandolo, Friuli Grave, Friuli Isonzo, Friuli Latisana. The Consortium of DOC does not have its own employees but uses the ones of the already existing DOC Consortia, coordinating activities and creating the appropriate synergies. One of the main purposes of the Consortium is to promote regional wine, in collaboration with all the institutional actors (in particular the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Administration and the Regional Agency for Rural Development - ERSA) and taking due account of all the wine production, both DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) and IGT (Typical Geographic Indication), promoting the entire regional sector.

The Consortium is involved in the organization of initiatives that emphasize regional food and wine, promoting indiscriminately all the regional producers. On the one hand this results in taking part in main sectorial trade shows and specific events focused on promotion (Friulano & Friends, FriuliDOC, Barcolana, etc) coordinated by ERSA; on the other this means implement ideas and professionalism, designing projects that aim at promoting regional wines in some foreign markets, starting with those in which many companies are investing and trying to pull an institutional promotion alongside a commercial one, left to the companies themselves; finally, this also means creating opportunities for those who work mainly in the region or receive a boost from regional promotional initiatives.
