Savio Macchine Tessili S.p.a.
Founded in Pordenone by the entrepreneur Marcello Savio in 1911, Savio has started as a small workshop specialized in producing textile products for local industry. In 2011 Alpha private equity fund acquired the 100% of Savio Macchine Tessili S.p.A. and its controlled units.
Today Savio is a leader in the yarn finishing machine sector, operating worldwide in the manufacturing and marketing of automatic winders, continuous shrinkage and bulking winders, two-for-one twisters, and rotor spinning frames with factories in Italy, China and India.
A continuous evolution evolved then through the years by taking as points of reference Research & Development, highest manufacturing flexibility and high quality standards. This particular focus gave life to a strong propulsion that led the company to create a modern and flexible production system, able to respond quickly to the requests of the textile industry all over the world.
In recent years Savio has been developing an internationalization process that has affected the expansion of the Chinese and Indian markets.
Savio Shandong is the Chinese manufacturing unit located in the industrial area of Jining, Shandong province. This unit has established its position as productive unit of 3 different machineries specifically addressed to the that local market.
Savio India is the manufacturing unit located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where also the sales/post-sales activities and the training of local technicians are carried out. With its corporate office located at Ludhiana and Kolhapur, the company is able to serve the local market and respond to the customer’s needs in a timely manner.
Nowadays Savio can count on a direct commercial presence in over 60 countries worldwide. In 2011 the company achieved a turnover of over 300 million Euro with 480 employees. The strategic and operational headquarters are in Pordenone; the plant covers an area of 171,000 meters.
