Altia Fontanafredda Ltd was founded in 2010 by acquiring the assets of a previous industrial company founded at the beginning of the 80s and works in the field of cold forming and machining for the production of metal parts mainly for the automotive industry.
The unit in Fontanafredda, Pordenone, is one of 33 units of Altia Group, a French company operating worldwide, based in Paris with a turnover in 2012 of approximately € 500M and 4,000 employees located mainly in France as well as in foreign production units in Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, Tunisia, China, Czech Republic, Poland and Italy.
Altia Fontanafredda is the center of expertise for the Group Altia relatively to cold pressing: the process of plastic deformation of a metal (steel, copper, aluminum) at room temperature.
This type of technology allows to produce finished parts with high productivity (up to 80 pcs minute) and with better mechanical properties at which a negligible production of waste compared to the more traditional machining by chip removal from the metal bar.
Altia Fontanafredda over the years has gradually abandoned the production of mounting systems and hydraulic fittings and with a continuous research of new technologies and the continued commitment to innovate and improve production processes has refined its technical know-how. Today it has become a reference for the European automotive industry in the production even with high complexity details (in the last 12 months, the production for the automotive industry was 29 Mil pcs) consolidating the production unit as a partner of the best known brands worldwide, both as builders and as Level 1 contractors.
The whole process of research, design and development of molds is carried out internally through a unit of R&D consisting of designers, specialists and technicians operating in molds which is the flagship of the company.
