LionSteel was founded in 1969 exploiting the wave of the traditional manufacturing culture of Maniago. It developed significantly its activities at the end of the Nineties, when it established its position as a leader company in the production of knives for the everyday life (work, sport, hunting, fishing). These knives belong to a category of knives called EDC (EveryDayCarry) and are suitable to be used in everyday life, living discreetly in the user’s pocket or bag.

While in the past the manual skills of the craftsman were the most important thing to be successful, today LionSteel’s productive cycle can combine the traditional artisan intuitions with an innovative approach to production and marketing. The company is present with its products all around the world. In 2010 and 2012 the company has been recognized twice with the Blade Award in Atlanta. The Blade Award is a price awarded by cutlery producers for the most innovative knives. Before 2010 no foreign company had ever gained this price in the U.S.
