GDAŃSKIE INWESTCJE KOMUNALNE is a Limited Liability Company established in 2008 in Gdansk

 

 

The company is an entity set up by the Municipality of Gdansk under the Act on the preparation of the final tournament Football Championship UEFA EURO 2012 and under the Resolution of the City Council of Gdansk.

The Company's mission is to prepare, organization, implementation and commissioning of the planned investment projects which aims to meet the needs of the wider community in the field of development of road infrastructure.

 


Field of activity: preparation and implementation of Project Euro 2012, and in particular being a project supervisor for the investor’s tasks and for tasks of construction supervision within the meaning of the Act - Building Law.  It includes investments entrusted to prepare and implement under the Agreement between the Municipality of Gdańsk and the Company (a total of 35 separate investment tasks within the 8 Projects included in the implementing acts to the law on the organization of UEFA Football Championship in Poland in 2012).

 

The main tasks:
- Sucharskiego Road – connection of national roads
- Building of W-Z Road in Gdansk
- Implementation of Gdansk Urban Transport Project - Phase III
- Connection the Gdansk airport with the Gdansk Port (including the building of the tunnel under the Martwa Wisła river)
- The construction of the ECS - European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk
- Building of the Integrated Traffic Management System TRISTAR
- Drainage of land for a football stadium in the district of Gdańsk – Letnica
- Reconstruction of Gdańsk downtown Integration Node

 

 

Realized investment projects are aimed at changing the communication system of the city, not only to allow a smooth travel and leave the PGE Arena stadium during events, but in particular for a change of the whole system, which aims the improvement of the  quality of life for residents of Gdańsk and Tricity, especially for:
- Better access to Airport in Gdansk – Rebiechowo
- A quicker road from the Port of Gdansk in the direction of Lodz and Warsaw, bypassing downtown
- Improving the public transport system by building new tram lines in the residential areas located on the outskirts of the city, yet poorly communicated to the center
- New communication links to improve the functioning of the existing road system and of significant importance for the further development of Gdansk
- Automated control system for urban traffic to improve the security of communication system

 

As an additional task, Gdansk European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk was built. It is the a museum and didactic centre, aimed at promoting ideas and historical significance of the "Solidarity".

 

All investments carried out by the Company are co-financed by the Municipality of Gdansk and the European Union in the framework of EU programs.
