28 years ago Naturkost-Großhandel BODAN began their business activities. Starting with five employees, constricted storage conditions and a limited range of products BODAN developed to a now flourishing company. Today BODAN Großhandel für Naturkost GmbH supplies natural food retailers in southern Germany and Vorarlberg with over 12.000 organic products. The company today employs around 200 people and reached a turnover in 2014 of over 60 million Euro. With its 18 members in the customer service team BODAN is not only a logistic company but also the first contact person for all concerns of the specialist retail stores. For BODAN it is important not only to offer sustainably produced products but also to manage all logistic processes from storage to stock-taking and delivery in a resource-friendly way. The objective for the year 2020 is a decarbonised logistic.

Furthermore BODAN is committed to the idea of ‚Gemeinwohlökonomie‘ that was developed in 2008 by the Austrian author and activist Christian Felber. ‘Gemeinwohlökonomie’ is not based on pursuit of profit and competition but on the pursuit of common good and cooperation. BODAN reaches out their hand to all parties in the value-added cycle and bets on cooperation with constructive dialogues and mutual respect – from farmers and gardeners, processing companies to retail and its customers. A mutual economic promotion with a turn of gaze on the well-being of all trading partners is the guiding principle of BODAN for a sustainable management. As one of the pioneering companies of the ‘Gemeinwohlökonomie’ since 2011 BODAN annually publishes a balance for the common good and supports actively the idea of alternative economies.
