Simbio d.o.o.

The company for waste management Simbio d.o.o., was established on 1. May 1996 (then called Public facilities) to perform public utility service of waste management. This activity is provided by company or public company in 12 municipalities: Celje, Vojnik, Dobrna, Štore, Šentjur, Žalec, Braslovče, Prebold, Polzela, Vransko, Tabor and Dobje. In organized waste disposal is also included 110,000 residents of Celje region and they annually collect 50,000 tons of communal waste, which is driven into the Regional Centre for Waste Management Celje.

One of the important activities of Simbio d.o.o. is also the cleaning of public areas, carried out in town of Celje.

Simbio also manages the Regional Centre for Waste Management Celje, which includes 24 municipalities of Savinjska region. In the center, the construction of which was co-financed by the European funds, separately collected waste is additionally reassembled in sorting center, biological waste is composted, mixed communal waste is processed at the facility for mechanical-biological treatment to separate the light and heavy fraction. Light fraction is then transported to the Thermal station Celje for thermal treatment, and heavy fraction is deferred at the landfill of residual waste.

Simbio also manages assembly centers Bukovžlak, Polzela (Andraž), Tabor – Vransko, Vojnik in Prebold.
