logo Riso MelottiMelotti agricultural holding is a family-run business that has been specializing in the production of Vialone Nano and Carnaroli rice since 1986: these are fine varieties that the family grows in their fields, following every single step of their production until their sale. Melotti represents a true Italian example of short distribution chain, which has been greatly promoted by Giuseppe Melotti, its creator, since the beginning of the business’ activities.


By progressively specialising in rice production, this dynamic and innovative enterprise has come up with a variety of rice-based dishes in the past years, while growing exclusive and refined varieties, which are regarded as special rice kinds.
Because of its high quality and refinement level, Melotti rice is used by top chefs working in the best Italian restaurants and is sold in the most prestigious gourmet shops, as Melotti’s company policy does not foresee its sale in the organised large-scale distribution.
Since 2005 Melotti has also been developing a didactic farm path called “Travelling around the world of rice” in order to promote the knowledge of rice and of its universe.

 

A new challenge that adds up to the previous ones is represented by Melotti Risotterie. Through their three restaurants in Isola della Scala, Rome and New York, the Melotti family aims at advocating true Italian risotto, promoting those varieties that are normally used in this dish. By offering a rice-only cuisine, these restaurants are all gluten free as well.
By means of this big project, the Melotti family intends not only to export its own-produced rice, but also to spread the Italian and Veronese tradition and culture in the world.
