Colruyt Group owns its own Logistics department with over 4.000 employees. In addition, we also own a diverse range of product departments.

Sustainable and efficient logistics
The Logistics department ensures that the group's stores are stocked up in a continual, qualitative and efficient manner. There are over 4.000 employees who ensure this: order pickers, employees in goods reception, planners, drivers, etc. If it provides an added value to the group and the employees, we also invest in technology. Together, we ensure that the goods are available to the customers at the right time and we do this the most sustainable manner possible. For instance, we optimise the lorries' filling level and organise the logistics and transport planning as efficiently as possible by, for example, also delivering in the early morning and the late evening. In addition, for the transport between the supplier and the distribution centre, we use other means of transport besides lorries (such as trains, boats, etc.).

Our own production
At Colruyt Group, we do a lot ourselves. For example, we own our own coffee-roasting house and wine bottling plant. This way, we can closely monitor the quality during the entire production process. In this, we often set the bar higher than is legally required. Because of our own production, the group can work in a cost-reducing manner and it offers extra opportunities to distinguish ourselves from our competitors. For instance, it is easy to anticipate the regional preferences.
